Stassi Schroeder never fails to deliver the shock factor whether it’s her iconic one-liners on ‘Vanderpump Rules’ or confessions on her podcast. The reality star has got her own book coming to a shelf near you that includes an anecdote about the time she was lured into the Scientology religion.
Many of Stassi’s past bad decisions are due to her co-star and ex-boyfriend Jax Taylor — and this is no exception. Nearly a decade ago, Jax was doing some modeling work at the center for Scientology in LA when Stassi first came to town.
A leader at the center convinced Taylor to bring his then-girlfriend in to talk about the taboo religion that Tom Cruise belongs to. She recalls meeting with Tom Cruise’s mentor (that name-dropped the famous actor multiple times) who took her to a room alone to watch a strange video.
“When we went to the Scientology center we met with Tom Cruise’s mentor. The guy threw out Tom Cruise’s name like four hundred million times to make sure we knew who we were dealing with. After our weird-a** office visit, he walked us around the building and everyone we saw was in the happiest mood. It was . . . like a cult.”
Schroeder revealed that she ignored her gut instinct and continued to tour the grounds.
“Then Tom Cruise’s mentor said Jax and I were going to be separated, and he took me into a room alone to watch a video that involved a kid eating a boiled egg and then witnessing a car accident.”
Somehow, the meeting convinced both of the Bravolebrities to pay $100 for a Scientology book and join the religion. But that came to a quick halt when a ‘creepy’ teacher told Jax to ‘communicate with the aliens.’
